‘PURBANAT’ awarded Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

A total of 19 Bangladeshis including drama team ‘PURBANAT’ have received various awards marking Platinum jubilee of Her majesty of Queen Elizabeth II.

Of the titles, PURBANAT received ‘The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service’. It is the highest award in the United Kingdom in organization category.

One of the best founder of PURBANAT and playwriter Murad Khan said “ PURBANAT is mainly working with minority groups for developing community through arts. We are conveying community’s various problems, possibility and pride to people through atrs.”

 

He also said, “ Although we worked separately in various places, PURBANAT began its career officially in 2014.”

“This platform is basically formulated with immigrant artists. Mainstream artists are also involved with the platform. But, we have expanded our activities over the demand of communities,” Murad said.

“It brought International Language Day, Independence Day, Victory Day, History of the Liberation War and various rural cultures into British mainstream. PURBANAT is working for people who speak in different languages.”
